About

I'm an optimist, prefer the Pirates to the Navy and believe in the power of ideas. As much as our industry has changed and continues to change, ideas are the one constant that remain at the centre of any worthy brand expression. A good idea can fix anything, a great idea can change the world.

In 2011 I moved to the US to join Fitzgerald+co as Executive Creative Director and Head of Art. My role was to transform the culture and work from good to great. I took the leadership role in repositioning and rebranding the agency. Also instituted craft skills development and an internal training system to build a true creative culture. The work became award winning and most importantly new business winning: Cartoon Network, Tru TV, Adult Swim, Vanity Fair Group, Hooters, Mellow Mushroom and Synovus are some of those wins, and perhaps the biggest win was substantially growing our share of the Coca-Cola account. I also ran the agency’s only global account, Nutrilite, with teams in Atlanta, New York, Hamburg and Hong Kong.

In 2014 I was offered the Executive Creative Director position at SK+G, an independent based in Las Vegas. My role was to lead the agency, improve the work and expand the client base. I added some great people with unique skills to join the team which set us up to to do unexpected and unconventional work from industrial design to virtual reality. W Hotels, SLS, Gorsuch and Caroline Bay were huge new business wins. The most rewarding part of my role was nurturing and inspiring young talent and giving them an environment to make mistakes and do great things.

Before moving to the US I worked at Ogilvy and TBWA Hunt Lascaris in South Africa. TBWA Hunt Lascaris was voted Ad Age’s International Agency of the Year twice during my time there. I have also worked at Y&R, FP7 and Saatchi & Saatchi in Dubai.

I’ve won and judged at all the big shows in our industry: Cannes, D&AD, One Show, Clio and ADC NY.
